Red Wings struggles continue, lose 6th straight.
Thursday night at Joe Louis Arena, the Detroit Red Wings took on the Calgary Flames hoping for a different result than the last five games. But the end result was the same as the last 5 games as the Red Wings lose 4-1. Sloppy play and turnovers doomed the Red Wings to their sixth loss in a row. The Red Wings looked at times in control and other times slapping the puck around, errant passes and turning the puck over lead to the lost.
The Red Wings lone goal came from Dan Cleary, his first of the year. Jimmy Howard was in net and took the loss for the Red Wings.
Miikka Kiprusoff played stellar, and stood on his head stopping 28 of 29 Red Wings shots and Jarome Iginla scored two goals, his third and forth of the year. Lee Stempniak started off the scoring in the first period with his second of the year. Olli Jokinen ended the scoring for the visiting Flames with a empty net goal, his third of the year.
