Wings beat out Flames, get to 57 points in 41 games
The Red Wings win makes 26 wins in the half way mark of the season. The Wings played the Calgary Flames to an angered Mike Babcock at the end of the game.
The game started with Calgary getting an early start, scoring at the 8:43 mark, a goal by Curtis Glencross. the Wings answered back later in the game, with a goal at 15:58, by Darren Helm. Momentum was on the Wings side, until the 19:50 mark, where Jarome Iginla, the great Calgary Flame scored his 17th goal of the season. Ending the first period.
The second period always is the Wings strongest period. Early it was proven, a goal at 0:41 by Brian Rafalski, tied the game up. But the Flames scored twice in 10 minutes, starting with Curtis Glencross, and Aton Babkchuck. Time was running out for the Wings, who were down 4-2, with 19:42 played in the second, when Patrick Eaves scored, getting the score to 4-3. The period ended.
Third period is known in hockeytown as the Wings graceful period. The Wings have tied or won many games in the third period. So its continued to the 8:16 mark by Brian Rafalski, who scored. Tying the game, and going to Overtime.
Wings get a point, something they have been getting on a regular basis, so Overtime nothing much happened, so it went to a shootout.
